PURPOSE:To reduce the frequency of stopping first compressor and permit to effect a control stabilized in the blow-off air temperature by a method wherein a capacity increase restraining means, restraining the capacity increase of the first compressor, is provided. CONSTITUTION:In case the total capacity step of the compressors 4, 5 is regulated to the decreasing side of refrigerating capacity by increasing the capacity of the first compressor 4 and decreasing the capacity of the second compressor 5, the capacity increase restraining means 26, restraining the capacity increase of the first compressor 4 for a predetermined period of time, is provided. Accordingly, the inconvenient delivery pressure increase of the first compressor 4 and stopping of the first compressor 4 due to the opening of a high-pressure circuit breaker may be prevented even in the regulation of capacity step of said refrigerating capacity into the decreasing side upon room heating operation. As a result, the frequency of stopping the first compressor 4 may be reduced, the durability of the compressor 4 may be improved and the control stabilized in the blow-off air temperature may be effected.
