PURPOSE:To obtain an immobilized complex of microorganisms having strong controlling effect to the plant blights, by treating a solution containing microorganisms having antagonistic activity to plant pathogen, and reacting the solution with carrageenan. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing microorganisms having antagonistic activity to plant pathogen, is treated with a mineral acid salt of a bivalent or polyvalent metal. The obtain solution is made to react with carrageenan, and the reaction product is dried. The microorganism used in the above process is e.g. bacteria, actinomycetes, eumycetes, myxomycetes, lichens, algae, etc. The culture of the microorganism can be carred out e.g. by the shake culture in liquid medium, stationary culture in liquid medium, and the culture in solid medium. The bivalent metal mineral acid salt is e.g. calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, barium chloride, etc. The obtained complex having the activity to control the plant pathogen exhibits strong controlling effect to the blights of plant, especially against the plant pathogen infecting via soil. Furthermore, the complex can be stored stably for a long period, and is advantageous in view of the quality control.
