PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of an oil hole by adhering a pad material formed of wear resistant alloy powder and acrylic binder to a base material for a cam having a communicating oil hole then holding the material for prescribed time at a specific temp. then sintering the material. CONSTITUTION:A cast iron base material for a cam having an oil feed hole 2 in the central part and a hole 3 communicating with the hole 2 is prepd. A pad material 4 consisting of a powder alloy sheet is adhered to the surface in the sliding part of a cam part 1a and a through-hole 5 is provided thereto. An insert material 7 which does not adhere to the material 4 is adhered to the hole 3. The assembly is then held for >=5min at 150-380 deg.C in a non-oxidative atmosphere and is sintered at 950-1,150 deg.C by which a cam shaft is formed. Part of the material 4 is sintered in a liquid phase to form a hardened layer 8 joined integrally with the material 1. The deformation of an oil hole 6 is prevented by the member 7. |
