PURPOSE:To manufacture a multicolored display device which holds surface uniformly and has a high display quality, by forming its conductive layer in multiple layers with an SnO2 layer at the top. CONSTITUTION:A conductive layer 2 is formed in such a way that an In2O3 film is first formed by sputtering and an SnO2 film is formed on the In2O3 film by CVD, and then, the two layers of transparent conductive films are subjected to patterning. The patterned films are used as electrodes. Then a display substrate 6 on which display electrodes 7 are formed is dipped in an electrodeposition bath having a prescribed chemical composition. Electrodes to be colored in the same color are selected out of the display electrodes 7 patterned in stripes and a voltage is applied by using the selected electrodes as anodes. Then the display substrate is pulled up and sufficiently washed with water and, after the solution adhering to parts where the voltage is not applied is washed away, dried up. Thereafter, the polyester resin and melamine resin in the colored layer formed by electrodeposition are hardened by utilizing their condensation reaction when baked. |
