SLIDING NOZZLE DEVICE HAVING GAS BLOWING FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which has excellent resistance to erosion and can blow uniformly and substantially an inert gas for a long period by providing a gas blowing ring having plural pieces of radial small holes from the groove formed along the outside circumferential part in the aperture of a stationary plate brick toward the sliding the plate side at the center of the aperture. CONSTITUTION:The stationary plate 3' of this sliding nozzle (SN) device is subjected to a heat treatment at <=500 deg.C around a communicating hole 4' for a molten steel of said plate and is provided with a gas blowing ring 8' provided with a groove 9' made of refractories having excellent resistance to erosion. The inert gas introduced through a gas introducing hole 10' into the ring 8' from the outside is blown through the groove 9' and small holes 11' into the hole 4'. The solidification of the molten steel in the upper nozzle 1' and the hole 4' stagnating in the stage of exchanging an immersion nozzle is thus prevented by the stirring effect thereof.
