The invention relates to a process allowing the produce a natural pigmenting agent for animal feed with high stability in comparison with the conventional pigmenting agents blended with feed; such a result is obtained by microencapsulating the active substance, so that the latter is neither attacked by the feed ingredients nor by external agents, taking particular measures to avoid degradation of microcapsules.
