In a process for dewatering paint coagulate precipitated from water as a water-containing paint sludge, the paint sludge is transported out of the water. This is carried out in a plant having a wet separation tank (2) which is provided with a paint sludge remover (5) for transporting deposited paint sludge out of the wet separation tank (2). In order to enable a substantial dewatering of the paint coagulate, a part of the water is re-added to the paint sludge transported out of the water and mixed with the paint sludge in a paint sludge suspension and then the paint sludge suspension is separated, by centrifugation, into water and low-water paint coagulate. For this purpose, there is arranged downstream of the paint sludge remover (5) a mixing vessel (12) which is connected to the water situated in the wet separation tank (2) and the mixing vessel (12) is connected to a centrifuge (17) for separating the water and paint coagulate (19). <IMAGE> |
