The present invention relates to a process and a device for manufacturing a tearable spiral tube. The device essentially comprises a cylindrical mandrel 10 around which are wound a cardboard strip 11 and a paper strip 12. The mandrel 10 is fixed and the cardboard strip is rotatably driven by a flat belt 13 which is itself driven by two turrets (rollers) 14 and 15. A helical tear line 20 is formed by a cutting (perforating) wheel 16 provided with teeth 17 which bears against the exterior wall of the tube 18.
