<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate obtaining a highly uniform products of good quality in mass production process by forming a porous sintered nickel body with many laminated and sintered nickel foils, each having many minute holes. CONSTITUTION:A nickel foil in which many minute holes are made in honycomb-shape is formed by a photo-lithographic technique and such foils are laminated and fused together. For reducing the sintering temperature, placing a proper quantity of fine nickel powder between the foils to be laminated in the sintering is a good practice. A porous sintered body 2a thus obtained has not only an uniform void content but also has an advantage of allowing to freely control the void content by adjusting the hole size in forming the foils. The construction obtained in such a manner allows to control the initial characteristics in electron emission and is also effective in controlling the life characteristics.</p> |
