PURPOSE:To produce stably a thin metallic strip having a uniform plate thickness in the transverse direction by specifying the shape of a nozzle aperture for ejecting a molten metal and the disposition of the nozzle to a roll. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle 1 has the curving arc-shaped aperture 2 at the base thereof. The projecting part of the aperture 2 of the nozzle is directed toward the recess in the advancing direction of the roll or the recess is directed thereto and a distance (m) is provided to the roll 3 on the down or upper stream side of the top T according to the thickness deviation obtd. from a thickness detector. The (m) is increased in such a manner that the distance (g) between the center 2a of the aperture 2 and a cooling base plate is made larger than the distance between both edges 2b of the aperture 2 and the cooling base plate in order to prevent the formation of the middle-thin strip as a result of the crown arising from the thermal expansion during casting. The strip having a uniform thickness is thus obtd. |
