PURPOSE:To provide the titled casting mold which prevents penetration of a molten metal and is safely operated by disposing many side face dam blocks fitted adjacently to an endless belt on both sides of the endless belts and specifying the space between the blocks at the size at which the generation of tension in the belts by thermal expansion is obviated. CONSTITUTION:Many side face blocks 5 are fitted through dovetail grooves 8 to an endless metallic belt 9 to constitute side walls and the belt is moved at the equal speed synchronized with endless belts 1, 2 with a belt type continuous casting machine which pours a molten metal into the spacing constituted of the belts 1, 2 and the side face blocks 5 on both sides thereof and cools the molten metal to solidify while moving the same. Every several pieces of said blocks 5 are preliminarily fastened to the belt 9 by means of screws 10 and the sum of the inter- block spacing between the screwed blocks is made slightly larger than the total thermal expansion of the blocks. Even if the blocks 5 expand thermally, the belt 9 is kept free from tension and the spacing between the blocks is made slight by which the generation of the penetration of the molten metal is obviated. The operation is thus made safe. |
