PURPOSE:To prevent a paper from colliding with a cover when resetting the paper and prevent the paper from jamming, by positioning a bail roller at a pressing position between the bail roller and a platen when the leading end of a recording medium is fed to the pressing position. CONSTITUTION:When a paper-setting switch 22 is depressed, a CPU23 inputs a driving signal D into a motor-driving circuit 25 to drive a motor 26, whereby a slip paper 4 set on a paper hopper 31 is fed to a contact position G of the platen 3 and the bail roller 7 through the position of a printing head 2. A driving signal B is inputted to a plunger magnet driving circuit 24 after being delayed by a period of time which is not shorter than the period of time required for feeding the paper 4 by distance L from the position G to an opening position H of the cover 33 and is shorter than the period of time required for feeding the paper 4 by distance J from a teading end position I to the position G. Then, under the condition wherein the paper 4 has reached to position G, passage of an electric current to a plunger magnet 13 is interrupted, whereby the bail roller 7 is positioned at the pressing position at which it makes contact with the platen 3. |
