PURPOSE:To make it possible to have an enough car room space, by arranging a steering rack under the rear side of a transmission case so as to place a dash panel well forward, for a four wheel drive engine converted from a front wheel drive engine. CONSTITUTION:A cross member set 17 is formed by placing cross members 12 and 13 across the front and rear ends of side members 11 installed at the frame side, and by furnishing a longitudinal member 16 through cushion rubbers 14 and 15, at the center of both cross members 12 and 13. An engine 1 is loaded on the cross member set 17, by placing engine mounting rubbers 18 and 19 lengthwise on the longitudinal member 16 over which engine side brackets 20 and 21 are mounted. In a space between a transmission case 22 projected backward from the engine 1, and the rear side cross member 13, is arranged a steering rack 23, which is inserted from an inserting hole 24 formed at the side of the chassis. |
