PURPOSE:To achieve an optimum printing, a less printing power and a higher speed printing by providing a temperature detection system for detecting the temperature of a thermal head to accomplish a shorter application time of voltage to the thermal head and a higher speed of a paper feed motor according to a signal indicating a rise in the temperature from the temperature detection system. CONSTITUTION:When printing is made ready and a printer is started to print, printing is done at the preset speed on the printer while the temperature of a thermal line head 3 is low. As the temperature of the thermal line head 3 rises, it is detected with a temperature detection circuit 9. A microcomputer 7 determines an optimum head application time data with respect to the temperature data and feeds it to a motor speed control circuit 10 and a head driving circuit 8. This enables a printing at a high paper feed speed, yet under the optimum head application time. Thus, the optimized paper feed speed is sped up with the rise in the temperature thereby speeding up the printing. |
