摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To judge promptly the end of steel tapping by arranging the end surface of an optical fiber cable while facing it toward the inside of a furnace to a gas blowing conduit inserted and fixed in a through-hole at suitable position of the furnace wall, and measuring the temp. of a molten material by an optical temp. measuring device through the cable. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas is jetted into a converter 1 from the gas blowing conduit 6 just before steel taping to prevent the molten material from flowing in the conduit 6, and steel tapping operation is performed by inclining the furnace 1. In this state, since a molten steeel A having higher sp. gr, than that of a slag B exists at a tapping hole 3, the temp. of the steel A is measured and displayed by an optical temp. measuring device (figure is omitted) through the optical fiber cable 10. If the slag B descends to the inner end opening hole position of the conduit 6 just before the end of steel tapping, since the temp. of the slag B is lower than that of the steel A by about 300 deg.C, the steel tapping end time can be judged, and steel tapping operation is finished by inclining the furnace 1 to a vertical state.</p>
