PURPOSE:To obtain a hot water supplier having good economical advantages and good operability by a method in which the beginning of electrification to an auxiliary heater provided to a hot water storage tank is judged by the detection of the temperature of hot water in the tank after the lapse of a proper time period following the detection of the operation of a heat pump system. CONSTITUTION:A circulation path 6 which passes through a water outlet 2 below a hot water storage tank 1, a circulating pump 3, a heat exchanger 4 and a water inlet 5 above the tank 1 is formed. On the other hand, a heat pump cycle path which passes through the heat exchanger 4, an expansion valve 7, an evaporator 8 and a compressor 9 is formed. An auxiliary heater 10 is provided to the tank 1, and the beginning of the electrification to the heater 10 is judged by detecting the temperature of hot water in the tank after the lapse of a proper time period following the detection of the operation of the heat pump cycle path. The function of the heat pump system which is varied with seasons is grasped, the amount of residual hot water is detected, and energy-saving performance is attained by the maximum operation of the heat pump system. The water heating capability of hot water supplier within the midnight power supply time can also be obtained. |
