PURPOSE:To lighten the burden of a driver by automatically controlling a throttle valve, etc. so as to keep a safe distance between cars corresponding to a detected car speed as long as said detected car speed is lower than a predetermined value, when the traveling controlling is judged to be a low speed in a traffic snarl. CONSTITUTION:A first data storing means F, which stores first data V0 to be compared with the output V of a car speed detecting means D, and a second data storing means G, which stores second data LM to be compared with the output L of a car-distance detecting means F, which detects a distance between cars by sending an ultrasonic wave etc. toward a preceding car, are provided in the captioned device. When V<V0, and L<LM, a timer means H is started, in a control unit C and, when the measuring time becomes greater than a set value, each controlling signal for a throttle valve actuator K, for an exhaust valve actuator N, and for a transmission B is outputted either singly or with more than one signal together simultaneously. Thereby, a car driving force can be controlled in such a way that a detected car-distance value L is made agree with a safety car distance LS with respect to a car speed V. |
