PURPOSE:To enable effective measurement of an antenna phase, by measuring the phase difference of elevation difference channel nd azimuth difference channel. CONSTITUTION:A rotary table 12 is set to face toward the neighborhood of an angle theta1 alloing a phase of a phase-shifting apparatus 7 of testing member 11 to change, a signal level of an antenna pattern recorder 16 is observed setting 7 to the phase of the smallest value, and a radiation pattern of elevation difference channel DELTAEL of the sample antenna 6. Then, the table 12 is fixed in position theta1 and the apparatus 7 is adjusted for minimizing the signal level of the recorder 16 and the then phase phiEL is recorded. Then, an azimuth difference channel DELTAAZ is selected with a driving circuit 17, a radiation pattern of DELTAAZ is measured in the same way as the measurement of DELTAEL and a phase phiAZ which reduces the signal receiving level to a minimum is recorded. Difference of measurements phiEL and phiAZ respectively becomes difference of DELTAEL and DELTAAZ.
