PURPOSE:To improve work processing efficiency by providing a deposited matter removing device having polishing means capable of being mounted on a gear shaper and making contact with a rake surface of a pinion cutter movably in an intersecting direction with a cutter spindle. CONSTITUTION:A gear shaper inlcudes a pinion cutter 300 mounted on the lower end of a spindle 200 rotatably carried on a cutter head in a perpendicular direction thereto, and a gear is shaped by said pinion cutter 300. In the instance, a deposited matter removing device is integrally provided with the cutter head. The removing device includes a horizontal support base 031 fixed on the cutter head, a moving base 032 slidably driven by a motor 032-5 along the same base 031, and a rotating polishing device 034 mounted on the same base 032 via a spline device 033. Thus, the deposited matter adhering to the cutter 300 can be removed by the rotation of an oil stone 034-3 of the rotating polishing device 034. |
