PURPOSE:To prevent a difference from being generated between the amount of an ink precedingly transferred and the amount of the ink subsequently transferred overlappingly onto the precedingly transferred ink, by increasing thermal transfer energy as the overlap transfer of the ink is repeated. CONSTITUTION:In order that a solution area of an ink layer equal to that in the first direct transfer onto a recording paper is obtained each time the overlap transfer is repeated, the energy impressed on a recording head 3 is controlled by increasing the pulse width of a strobe signal STB for each heating element 31 in the recording head, in a predetermined ratio as the number of times of the overlap transfer increases. Accordingly, color images can be conducted with excellent color reproducibility. |
