PURPOSE:To provide toothpaste having improved fluidity without degrading the feeling to the palate, by compounding a specific amount of highly water-absorbing resin composed mainly of a water-insoluble self-crosslinking polyacrylic acid alkali metal salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective toothpaste having excellent fluidity and giving pleasant feeling to the palate is prepared by compounding 0.6-20wt%, preferably 1.0-10t% (based on the whole toothpaste) highly water-absorbing resin capable of absorbing preferably 400-1,000g of water per 1g of the resin and composed mainly of a water-insoluble crosslinking polyacrylic acid alkali metal salt, preferably sodium salt. The toothphase does not cause the plugging, and has high shape-retainability to prevent the soaking into the brush in use. Furthermore, it is free from tacky feeling in use and has excellent stability. |
