PURPOSE:To automatically remove burr produced on the outer surface of a pottery for maintaining high quality thereof by rotatably holding the pottery dish by means of a holder and rotating the same in contact with a grindstone at a constant pressure under control of deburring amount by an infeed setting unit. CONSTITUTION:After a dish 4 is coaxially placed on a holder 15 in an upside- down manner, an air cylinder 16 in actuated to move a piston rod 16a downwardly until an abutting member 18 is pressed against the dish 4, and moving members 19, 20 are moved to be adjusted in such a manner that a grindstone comes in contact with a portion of burr 4a. Then, when a motor 13 is started to rotate the dish 4 and air grinder 27 is started to rotate a rotating shaft 28, an annular portion of the dish 4 at which burr 4a is produced in ground at a constant pressure to remove the burr 4a. The grinding is continued until a guide member 32 abuts against the dish 4, and then deburring operation by gringing is stopped. Thus, the burr 4a is automatically and completely removed neither more nor less.
