<p>PURPOSE:To smoothly rotate a steering shaft by rotating the rotary axis of a motor around the steering shaft and transmitting this turning force to the steering shaft through a gear transmission means. CONSTITUTION:When steering force exceeds a preset value, the proper output torque value of a brushless motor 5 is calculated based on car speed signals and steering force signals and the driving current that corresponds to it is supplied to a stator coil 8. A rotary axis 6 is rotated to the side corresponding to the steering direction depending on the magnitude of the driving current and a ring gear 13 is driven in rotation through a planetary gear 14. A steering shaft 1 integrated with a flange 1a provided with the ring gear 13 is rotated in the same direction as a steering wheel 2 and power assisting actuation is performed.</p> |
