PURPOSE:To form an apparatus capable of performing the accurate color discrimination of an ink film, by simple constitution such that two kinds of lights in complementary color relation to the ink color applied to a film is detected through the ink film by a photoelectric conversion element. CONSTITUTION:Red light is allowed to irradiate a fed ink film 102 from a light source 401a while green light is allowed to irradiate the same from a light source 401b. When the color of the ink on the film 102 is cyan, red light from the light source 401a does not reach a light receiving element 402a and the output Da of a comparator 404a comes to ''0''. Green light from the light source 401b reaches a light receiving element 402b and the output Db of a comparator 404b comes to ''1''. Similarly, the outputs Da, Db come to ''0'' or ''1'' with respect to colors of other inks. A logical circuit 405 multiplies the output Da by ''1'' and the output Db by ''2'', and adds both calculated values. The output of the logical circuit 405 comes to ''2'' when the color of ink is cyan, to ''1'' when magenta, to ''3'' when yellow and to ''0'' when black. Therefore, the color of the ink on the film 102 can be discriminated on the basis of numerical value. |
