PURPOSE:To prepare the titled screen with excellent color reproducibility, by forming a precipitated film of Tm/Tb-activated lanthanum oxychloride phosphor on the surface of a cathode ray tube by use of a precipitating soln. consisting of water glass and barium nitrate. CONSTITUTION:The fluorescent screen for color image projector is prepd. by forming a precipitated film of Tm/Tb-activated lanthanum oxychloride phosphor on inner face of a cathod ray tube by use of a precipitating soln. in which ratio of concn. (wt) of water glass to that of barium nitrate is 20-40. The Tm/Tb- activated lanthanum oxychloride phosphor is obtained by burning a mixt. of lanthanum source (e.g. lanthanum oxide), thulium source (e.g. thulium oxide), terbium source (e.g. terbium oxide), oxygen source and chloride source (e.g. ammonium chloride) in predetermined amts.
