PURPOSE:To prevent all test results obtained until power failure from becoming useless, and to utilize the test results effectively by providing the mechanism for preventing a test piece from being loaded by excessive tensile stress during power failure. CONSTITUTION:The test piece 1 is held between an upper rod 3 and an upper rod 2, thermal expansion and contraction are generated in temp. rising and lowering states by a heating coil 4, and restrained, thereby thermal fatigue testing is performed. If power failure occurs during said testing, heating by a heating coil 4 is stopped, the piece 1 begins to contract thermally, the rod 3 receives a force in an arrow direction A, and a half-divided spacer 12 receives a force in an arrow direction B. Thereby, a force for separating pressing jigs 14 from each other in an arrow direction C is acted. On the other hand, since current supply for a solenoid valve 16 is eliminated, the acting force of an air cylinder 13 is lost, the spacer 13 is divided, the rod 3 descends in correspondence to the contraction of the piece 1, and applying of excess tensile load to the piece 1 can be prevented. |
