PURPOSE:To enable various kinds of rules to be printed without restrictions on the displaying position by a smaller number of line kind patterns, by a method wherein line kind patterns are stored respectively in horizontal and vertical positions, and the completion of a pattern is indicated by a stop code. CONSTITUTION:When the coordinates of a desired rule are inputted through a keyboard 12, a CPU1 calculates the coordinates for displaying the rule, and stores the calculated results into a rule coordinate memory 6. Next, when the desired line kind of the rule is inputted, the CPU1 stores the line kind into a rule line kind memory 7. When the rule is a vertical line, the CPU1 replaces the reading of a front for horizontal line kind patterns by that for vertical line kind patterns, and takes out the corresponding line kind pattern from a line kind pattern memory 4. Then, the CPU1 takes out the information at a scanning point, displays the information on a CRT9, and finishes the operation when information indicating that the scan point is a stop code is obtained. By a similar method, a rule can be printed by a printer 10. |
