PURPOSE:To eliminate effectively an after-image and to improve the driving performance of an image pickup device by applying a pulse to a vertical shift register and an interlacing circuit and outputting the signal charge of even and odd columns of photoelectric transducers in the same horizontal period. CONSTITUTION:A solid image pickup device is provided with photoelectric conversion elements arrayed 2-dimensionally, a vertical shift register 4, horizontal CCD7, MOS switch 2 and an interlacing circuit 5. Two pieces of CCD7 are provided to output the signal charge of even rows of the photoelectric conversion elements through the CCD7 of one side and then the signal charge of odd rows through the CCD7 of the other side. While pulses V2 and V1 are applied to the register 4 from terminals 21 and 22, and pulses F1 and F2 are supplied to the circuit 5 from terminal 23 and 24. Then the signal charges of even and odd columns of photoelectric conversion elements are outputted in the same horizontal period. This eliminates an after-image and improves the driving performance of the solid-state image pickup device. |
