PURPOSE:To realize prompt response to a decrease in concentration or a blur by comparing the number of black picture elements in a block under attention by a printed character line with that of peripheral block and controlling printing energy in a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Memories 1-3 for three lines are provided in a group of recording circuits 17 for received data to record each data of a preceding line, a current line and a following line. The number of black picture elements in a block under attention is counted by a black picture element counter circuit 5 and an output R of the count is inputted to comparators 9-12. In the meantime, the number of black picture elements A-D in a peripheral block which are counted by black picture element counters 4, 6-8 is inputted to comparators 9-12 and there the number is compared with the number of black picture elements R in a block under attention. Next, an output of comparators 9-12 is inputted to a recording head energy supply control circuit 13 consisting of ROM and other components. Thus an output to a recording head drive circuit 14 is regulated. |
