The invention relates to a device for loading and stacking trusses of straw or hay in particular. An articulated arm 5 in the form of an open L, connected to a frame 1 by means of a jack 8, carries a gripping member 100 comprising two claw carriers 26a and 26b retractable by means of a jack 31. The truss is picked up between the claws 30a and 30b and transported either in a horizontal plane or in a vertical plane as a result of the action of the jack 8, before being released in the newly selected position. The invention is used in agriculture, especially for the transport and stacking of straw trusses of circular or rectangular cross-section. <IMAGE>
