The invention relates to a device for the tight attachment of a dust bag to the suction opening (6) of a vacuum cleaner housing (7), it being possible for the dust bag to be inserted with its reinforcing plate (1) between guide parts (8 and 9) provided on the vacuum cleaner housing (7). In order to achieve tight resting of the reinforcing plate against the suction opening in a simple manner, mutually facing, U-shaped guide grooves are arranged as guide parts above and below the suction opening (6) running transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vacuum cleaner housing (7), said guide grooves having different depths. Furthermore, the guide groove with the greater depth is assigned at least one spring element (10) by means of which the reinforcing plate (1), when it has been inserted in the guide groove with the greater groove depth, is pressed against the base of the other guide groove. Accordingly, the width of the reinforcing plate (1), which is decisive for insertion in the guide grooves, is dimensioned to be greater than the clear spacing (a) of the mutually facing groove edges plus the smaller groove depth, but smaller than or at most equal to said clear spacing (a) plus the greater groove depth. <IMAGE>
