There is a spray can in which a container (1) filled with liquid is closed at the top by a lid (5) bearing a hand pump (7) which, with a pump rod (11), penetrates an opening in the lid and forms an outlet nozzle (6) on the lid, in which the pump rod is assigned a handle (17) which can be displaced by a spring into a spread position when the hand pump has been actuated, and in which the outlet nozzle is assigned an outlet spout (3). In this case, it is desirable for the spray can to be brought in a simple manner into a compact and tight state. This is achieved in that a sealing piece (18) is fitted onto the outlet nozzle (6), the outlet spout (3) can be connected by screwing to the outlet nozzle (6) and is fixed so as to rest against the outside of the container (1), the opening (12) is sealed off by means of a seal which surrounds the pump rod (11), and the handle (17) is fixed in a position near to the spray can. All these measures interact so that the spray can can lie in a heap mixed up with many others. <IMAGE>
