The bags, which are moved on conveyor (2) reach a drop position (4) where in free fall they turn over 180 deg. to land in horizontal position on a support platform (10) for further movement into a roller container. The drop height is 90cm. A series of sensors (20,15,16) control the drop height and stacking so that, when required the support platform is automatically adjusted to provide efficient loading into the roller container.
