PURPOSE:To make the positional relationship between the front tip of a wire rod and a disk always equal and to improve the yield of a product by starting two sets of pouring reelers provided to a rolling line in response to a starting command outputted from a wire-rod detector and reducing the idle standby time of the reeler. CONSTITUTION:Because said reeler 2 increases its speed along an approximately fixed rising curve till it attains a set revolution number after starting it and finishing its acceleration; the rotational total distance S1 of the outer circumference of a disk during that time, is constant at every winding, and the speed of a wire rod in a continuous mill 1 is also constant. A detector 15 of the front tip of wire rod used for starting the reeler 2 is set at the point separated from the reeler 2 by the sum of the distance S1 and a prescribed distance S2, to wind up the front tip A' of wire rod at an approximately fixed position with respect to the disk 5. That is, a distance S, till the tip A' reaches the disk 5 and is wound up thereby after detecting the tip A' by the detector 15 is obtained by an equation. Further, the timing of starting the reeler 2 is made to be optionally changeable by incorporating a timer in the detector 15.
