PURPOSE:To improve the ignition performance so as to attain complete combustion and a consequent high efficiency of combustion, by controlling a nozzle body to be set at first and second positions by a heat-sensitive operating element. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 7 and a bell mouth member 8a are held spaced at the minimum from each other when combustion is not started, and the suction of air by an injector 8 is little. Therefore an excess air ratio is low, while the gas concentration of a mixture gas is high. When catalytic combustion is started by ignition, the temperature of a heat-sensitive portion 14 of a heat-sensitive operating element rises, and thereby an operating portion 15 is extended to push an operating rod 16 down. By this operation a nozzle body 5 is moved back, and thereby a space between the nozzle 7 and the bell mouth member 8a is so enlarged as to facilitate the flow of air to the injector 8. Consequently the excess air ratio is raised, while the gas concentration of the mixture gas turns lower than that at the time when the combustion is not started. By lowering the gas concentration of the mixture gas in this way, complete combustion is attained, and consequently a high efficiency of combustion can be obtained. |
