The invention relates to a device for the constant-level loading or unloading of a container of the type consisting of a prismatic casing 10, for example a parallelepipedal casing, whose bottom is completely closed 12 or has an opening, and in which there is mounted a movable plate 14 which normally rests on the said bottom. This device comprises at least two flexible and strong filiform elements 16, 18, whose central portions act as a support for the plate 14 and at least four pulleys or pinions 32, 34, 36, 38 of the same diameter, keyed onto two parallel horizontal shafts 40, 42, mounted rotatably at a higher level than the upper edge of the casing 10, and about which pulleys the end strands 20, 22, 24, 26 of the filiform elements are wound. <IMAGE>
