PURPOSE:To perform patterning of a metallic film on the surface of a cover glass without taking consideration of a part to be omitted from deposition of the metallic film by adhering temporariry specified fine inorg. powder previously to the part desired to be freed of deposition of the metallic film. CONSTITUTION:Resist ink 2 prepd. by kneading inorg. fine powder of silica, etc. which is not bonded by fusing at vacuum deposition temp. or baking temp. of amalgamated gold, with water and solvent, is coated on the part on the surface of a cover glass 1 desired to be freed of deposition of metallic film, and dried. Then, metallic film 3 is formed on the surface of the glass 1 by vacuum deposition or amalgamation of gold, and the ink 2 and the metallic film 3 deposited on the ink 2 are removed by washing.
