PURPOSE:To planish rapidly an aluminum material to form a planished surface having good gloss without leaving abraded marks behind on the surface, by abrading an Al material with an aq. soln. contg. abrasive Al2O3 or MgO and a specified lubricant. CONSTITUTION:An Al material cut off is roughly abraded with a water-resistant SiC abrasive paper and intermediately abraded with a diamond powder paste. The resulting Al material is planished with an aq. soln. contg. abrasive AlO3 or MgO and 1-10% alkylbenzene detergent as a lubricant at a abrading rate of 0.5m/sec or below. EFFECT:A planished surface having little oxidized film thereon and good metallic gloss can be stably obtd. |
