An information display system is presented in which a multiplicity of information display devices are set up, for example in or in front of railway stations or similar locations. Each information display device contains a display, for example a screen (11), a key panel and a telephone set (34). When the telephone set is taken off hook whilst information on a hotel or a similar facility like a restaurant, travel bureau, sales facility, information for job applicants and so forth is displayed, a telephone connection is automatically established from the device directly to the hotel or the other facility which is currently displayed. <IMAGE>
