PURPOSE:To form a chemical film with excellent lubricating action on the surface of metal in a simple operation, by bringing a metal material in contact with a phosphate(phosphite)-contg. lubricating oil compsn. under heating. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil compsn. is prepd. by adding about 5-50wt% phosphate (phosphite) of the formula (where R is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group; n is 1 or 2) (e.g. dibutyl hydrogen phosphite or monobutyl phosphate) to a base lubricating oil (mineral oil and/or synthetic oil). A metal material heated to about 50 deg.C or higher is dipped in the lubricating oil compsn, for 0.5-10min for formation of a lubricating film on the surface of the metal material. Alternatively, a metal material at normal temp. may be dipped in the lubricating oil compsn. heated to about 50 deg.C or higher. |
