PURPOSE:To improve wiring density by extending the 2nd connection line groups beyond the terminal group of the 1st connection line group which drives a liquid- crystal material, and arranging a driving IC as an insulator at the extension part and connecting the IC and both terminal end groups electrically. CONSTITUTION:Transparent conductive films 116 and 124 are provided on insulating transparent substrates 102 and 106 and a liquid-crystal material 120 is provided between the films 116 and 124. Connection lines for driving the material 120 are divided into two groups 126 and 127 of wiring, and the wiring 127 is provided extending beyond the terminal group of the wiring 126. The IC104 driving the material 120 is arranged at the extension part of the wiring 127 across a spacer material 160. Respective terminals of the IC104 are wire-bonded to terminal parts of the wiring 126 and wiring 127 and then fixed by being coated with a moisture-resisting molding material 170. The spacer material 160 uses a mixture of solid-state insulator particulates and an adhesive consisting of two kinds of epoxy material. Thus, the wiring density of the IC is improved. |
