PURPOSE:To form a cylindrical body into good surface roughness, by homogenizing a cylindrical member having a bottom part being formed by drawing or shock cold forging in a way of grinding the member's surface before scraping, in time of manufacturing a copying machine drum or the like. CONSTITUTION:First of all, a cylindrical member's surface having a bottom part being formed by drawing or shock cold forging is ground, then scraping takes place. That is, since the member's surface is ground in its state before being scraped, rigidity in this member is very excellent as compared with that after being scraped so that any deformation in time of grinding is preventable and, what is more, a surface area is small enough as in a range of 1/3-1/5 as compared with the case of finishing the surface with cutting or grinding after scraping, therefore a loss of machining time and material will get off with a little and moreover, on a surface obtainable by grinding, homogeneous, minute jogs are produced whereby holding capacity for a lubricant in time of scraping is very excellent, thus defective seizure or binding to a scraping mold is preventable.
