PURPOSE:To improve gradational expression of low density level by providing plural recording parts which record information in the same recording color with >=2 kinds of density, and a recording paper conveyor for performing recording on the same recording form with different gradations through said recording parts successively, and selecting suitably the recording parts in matching with the density. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper to which high-density side image information is transferred is conveyed to a 2nd recording part 12 through the conveyance path 51. Simultaneously, a driving roller 36 and the take-up roll 40 for a low- density ink donor sheet are actuated to unroll a low-density ink donor sheet 30 from a supply roll 28. Further, signals sent to a (2a)th memory 70 and a (2b)th memory 72 synchronously with said timing are sent to a 2nd thermal head 32 successively through the 2nd thermal head driving circuit 76. Then, image information corresponding to a low-density image signal (j) is recorded by the 2nd thermal head 32 on the recording paper conveyed while superposed upon the low-density ink donor sheet 30 and a 1st thermal head 18.
