PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency of engine and to save fuel by disposing a heat pipe containing a low temperature operating medium in engine cooling water to recover low temperature thermal energy and elevating the temperature of supply water to a waste gas boiler. CONSTITUTION:The high temperature side of the low temperature operating medium containing heat pipe 6 is provided in water for cooling the internal combustion engine 10, and the low temperature side thereof is connected to a water drum 5 supplied with water cooled by a condenser 3 and becoming a low temperature. In the water drum 5, the thermal energy is transmitted from the low temperature side of the heat pipe 6 to the condensate, and water the temperature of which has thus been elevated passes through a deaerator 7 and is introduced into the waste gas boiler 9. As a result, steam generation in the boiler 9 is carried out efficiently and waste heat is recovered as electric energy. |
