PURPOSE:To obtain a tool material having superior resistance to corrosion and oxidation by blending a specified percentage of a binding material consisting of W, Cr, Ni and Co in specified ratios with a specified percentage of spheroidized W carbide. CONSTITUTION:A tool material having stable hardness at room temp. and high temp. and superior strength and hardness at high temp. is obtd. by blending 10- 50wt% binding material consisting of W, Cr, Ni and Co in 1/10-3/10 weight ratio of W/(Ni+Co), 1/50-1/5 weight ratio of Cr/(Ni+Co) and 1/5-4/1 weight ratio of Ni/Co with 90-50wt% spheroidized W carbide. One or more among Ti carbide, Ta carbide and Nb carbide may be substituted for <=20wt% of the W carbide.
