PURPOSE:To provide a useful composition having controllable expansion ratio, high mold release characteristics, low viscosity and excellent workability, and giving a mechanical part having excellent dimensional accuracy and suitable for the production of a variety of products in small quantities, by compounding an expandable compound with an epoxy compound, an acid anhydride and a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) an expandable compound selected from spiro-orthoesters, spiro-orthocarbonates and bicyclo-orthoesters with (B) 5-40(wt)% epoxy compound having two or more epoxide groups in one molecule, and (C) 30-40% acid anhydride selected from hexahydrophthalic anhydride and dodecenylsuccinic anhydride or 5-10% catalyst comprising a Lewis acid.
