PURPOSE:To display the marks for a scale simply, by turning OFF a bar display element, on both sides of which neighboring bar display elements are turned ON, among the bar display elements for marking. CONSTITUTION:A bar display device is constituted by arranging a plurality of bar disolay elements in a longitudinal line. With the increase in the amout of the displayed values, the bar display elements are sequentially turned ON from the element 10-1, which is arranged at the left end, rightward to the elements 10-2, 10-3.... When the number of the lighted bar display elements 10 exceeds 10 pieces and the 11th bar display element 10-11 is turned ON. the 10th bar display element 10-10 is turned OFF. Thereafter. when the number of the lighted bar display elements is increased and the 11th bar display element 10-21 from the bar display element 10-10 is turned ON, the bar display element 10-20 is likewise turned OFF. Thus, the every 10th bar display element becomes the marking display.
