发明名称 STARTING MATERIAL COMPOSITION FOR ALKALI RESISTANT GLASS FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition capable of manufacturing economically and efficiently a glass fiber having sufficient mechanical strength by adding an alkali resistance improver consisting of ZrO2, TiO2, and La2O3 to silicon- manganese slag to obtain a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:An alkali resistance improver consisting of ZrO2, TiO2, and La2 O3 is added to the slag obtained as a by-product from silicon-manganese smelting to obtain a starting material composition for an alkali resistant glass fiber contg. 5-10wt% ZrO2, 10-15% TiO2, <=4% La2O3 and >=71% said slag. A glass filament having excellent alkali resistance especially suitable for reinforcing cement products can be obtained by spinning said composition. The <=4% La2O3 as the composition of said alkali resistance improver can be replaced by <=5% SnO2 or SnO2 and La2O3.
