This apparatus makes it possible to use alcohol in piston heat engines operating on petroleum spirit with a minimum of modifications. It heats with the hot carbon dioxide gas produced by deflagration in any engine and channelled (by passing through the pipe hereinafter) the alcohol droplets originating from a sprayer and converts them into gas before they enter the engine. It is made up of a hollow conduit comprising two assembled components 1, 2 through which a pipe 3 passes. Two cavities 4, 5 exist in the conduit to compensate the obstruction of the pipe. The setting in motion is performed with a small quantity of petroleum spirit before reaching the pipe temperature needed for the gasification of the alcohol. <IMAGE>
