PURPOSE:To raise an efficiency of a combined measuring operation by making a prescribed number of articles pass through, and thereafter, taking custody of an article passing through by mistake, and controlling so that its number is added and becomes a prescribed numerical value, at the next measuring time. CONSTITUTION:An article W is supplied to a vibrating disk 11 and plural oscillating bases 15 from a conveyor 12. When a gate 21a of an intermediate hopper 21a is closed, an oscillating device 17 starts driving, and a stopper gate 20a of a keeping device 20 is opened. When the oscillating device 17 is driven, the oscillating base 15 is oscillated, therefore, the article W forms a line by one piece each and drops. When it drops down, a detecting device 19 detects the article W and outputs a detecting signal. If the article W overruns from the oscillating base 15, the overrun article W is in the custody of the keeping device 20. Accordingly, the counting contents of a counter become the number of pieces of the article W which has been in the custody of the keeping device 20.
